PMBC Entrepreneurship Ministry
Our mission is to instill greater resilience in PMBC youth through the provision of educational trainings on entrepreneurial topics, exposure to various professions via career panels and/or guest speakers, and hands-on-experience in fundraising. By leveraging the skills and mentorship capacity of experienced entrepreneurs at PMBC as well as appropriate partnerships, we aim to heighten youth awareness around economics, empower them to take calculated business risk, and prepare them to effectively engage in their families, within the church home and as members of wider society.
Through our Economic Development Resource Center, we also aim to provide resources to the PMBC church community, including but not limited to, encouragement around developing multiple income streams, updates of networking events for entrepreneurs throughout the Greater Atlanta Metro, and notice of skills training opportunities available through community-based organizations. Skills training opportunities will include, but not be limited to, career coaching during difficult transitions, business coaching, financial literacy and soft skills training. Information on these pathways will be posted on a designated, Entrepreneurship Ministry bulletin board outside of the main chapel and disseminated through a quarterly Newsletter (March, June, September, December).
In order to foster a spirit of resourcefulness and mutual support within the wider community, the Entrepreneurship Ministry maintains an online business directory so that members can be made aware of the gifts and talents within our community. We will also encourage submissions of PMBC entrepreneurs with references for consideration of a prestigious award: an annual Business Trailblazer award. Finally, the Entrepreneurship Ministry aims to host quarterly Faith & Finance community discussions or panels, and plans at least one networking event that will allow us to engage and share our business products and services with one another.
